The team of the upcoming Telugu comedy film Mithra Mandali has spoken strongly against the targeted hate and online trolling aimed at the movie and its cast. Actor Priyadarshi Pulikonda addressed the issue during promotions, saying that criticism is fine if it is constructive, but what is happening now is deliberate negativity.
“Everyone has the right to criticise. Constructive criticism helps us grow. But some people are purposely spreading hate and trying to pull us down. Those who spread such negativity don’t even use their real names. They hide behind fake IDs,” Priyadarshi said. He added that the Mithra Mandali team even made a funny video to mock this kind of targeted hatred.
The actor also shared that the film has created good buzz overseas. Telugu audiences abroad, he said, are showing excitement to watch the film and support regional cinema. “People overseas respect our language and culture. I’m sure our film will make them laugh,” he said.
On casting Niharika NM, he mentioned that working with her was easy because she is a Telugu speaker and blended well with the team. “She became a big asset for the film,” he said.
Responding to questions about comparisons with Jathi Ratnalu, Priyadarshi clarified that Mithra Mandali is very different in tone and story. “I don’t like doing the same genre again and again. Just because something worked once doesn’t mean we repeat it,” he explained.
The actor also addressed claims of a negative campaign against the film. He said, “Trying to make someone laugh is not cringe. Making fun of someone to create comedy is cringe. Many negative comments come from people who can’t win arguments.”
Mithra Mandali is directed by Vijayendra Prasad and produced under BV Works. It stars Priyadarshi, Niharika NM, Vennela Kishore, Satya and Vishnu Oi. The film is set to release this Deepavali.
