Acharya problems still continue

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan have come together for Acharya Movie. Koratala Siva wrote and directed the film. Movie failed to get decent openings that too at the level the producers have expected it to collect at the box office for the first day or weekend.

Movie has become a huge disaster bigger than Rickshawvodu in Chiranjeevi’s career. Distributors lost Rs.100 crores on the film during its theatrical run. Rather than going to producers’ office, distributors from Rayalaseema went to director Koratala’s office.

As the director took care of the business like selling theatrical rights, Satellite and Digital rights, he has been facing the issue to return the money. Now, the team troubles have increased. The buzz is that Gemini Television, a part of Sun TV Network has decided to re-negotiate the Satellite rights deal.

Sources say that the TV network has agreed to pay 15 crores for the rights prior to release. They have given Rs.7.5 crores as advance. But as the film failed and the TRP performance will be low, they have asked the producers to re-negotiate. Either they should give them the movie for discounted price of 50% less, that is, they won’t pay any new amount or they will return the rights and the team has to pay them the advance amount.

Acharya team headed by Koratala has to now find a Satellite TV willing to pay them more than 10 crores, at the least to be able to pay off to SUN Network and find some money to pay off to distributors as well. Or else, they have to accept that they have lost Rs.7.5 crores. Seems like the troubles of Acharya would continue for long.
