After enjoying a strong run in cinemas, the acclaimed Malayalam film Narivetta will be available to stream on Sony LIV from 11 July. Directed by Anuraj Manohar and brought to life by writers Abin Joseph (screenplay) and music composer Jakes Bejoy, the film is produced by Tippushan and Shiyas Hassan under the India Cinema Company banner.

Tovino Thomas stars as Peter Varghese, a dedicated police constable who is posted to a remote tribal area in Kerala. Inspired by the real‑life 2003 Muthanga incident, the story highlights the struggle of indigenous communities facing forced evictions and violent clashes with state authorities. Alongside Thomas, the cast includes Suraj Venjaramoodu as Head Constable Basheer Ahammed, Cheran in his Malayalam debut as senior officer Raghuram Keshavadas, and Arya Salim and Priyamvada Krishnan in key supporting roles.

The film’s technical team is headed by cinematographer Vijay and editor Shameer Muhammed, whose work draws viewers into the tense, forested landscapes of Wayanad and Alappuzha. Narivetta combines gripping action sequences with a thought‑provoking social message, earning praise for its realistic portrayal of duty, conscience and community.

Released in theatres on 23 May 2025, Narivetta collected approximately ₹29 crore by the end of its run, marking it as a commercial success on a budget reported to be around ₹10 crore. Reviews commended Thomas’s performance and the film’s bold approach to a sensitive chapter of Kerala’s history.

Malayalam thrillers have recently found a growing audience among Telugu speakers online, and Narivetta joins this trend by offering a dubbed Telugu version on Sony LIV. With its mix of action, drama and cultural relevance, the film promises to reach a wider audience when it arrives on the streaming platform next month.
