Maa Oori Polimera 2 Movie Rating: 2.25/5
Polimera movie became a surprise success on OTT platforms. With a low budget and lesser known faces, the movie delivered an interesting take on black magic. The makers have announced the sequel with the twist ending in the first one. Satyam Rajesh and Kamakshi Bhaskarla came back to play lead roles while Baladitya and Getup Srinu have important roles. Maa Oori Polimera 2 released in theatres on 3rd November, worldwide. Let’s discuss about the movie in detail.

Plot:
Jangaiah(Baladitya) goes missing for weeks after Bonalu. He got to know that his elder brother Komaraiah(Satyam Rajesh) is alive and committed crimes. He goes out to search for him. Komaraiah is living with his love Kavitha(Ramya) in Kerala. His friend Balija(Getup Srinu) puts on Ayyappa Mala to change his habits. SI Ravindra Nayak(Rakendu Mouli) takes charge in Jastipally and he decides to investigate about Jangaiah missing case.
Balija goes to Ayyappa Temple in Sabari, Kerala. There he finds Komaraiah and gets to know that he is doing all this because he got a calling from Polmera Temple. Archeologists keep digging secrets behind the temple, as well. Komaraiah tells that he gave human sacrifice of Kavitha to him. Why did he do so? What is the secret behind the Temple? What is the connection between this Polimera Temple and Anantha Padmanabha Temple? Watch the movie to know more details.
Analysis:
Satyam Rajesh and Baladitya gave a big surprise with first one Maa Oori Polimera on OTT platform. Movie with the final twist left open ending and increased interest on the sequel. But the makers seem to have gotten carried away by the twists. Each and every scene has been connected and narrated with a flashback. This just spoiled the screenplay to the core. While some parts are really interesting, rest just don’t give that high the twists in first part gave.
It looks like the inexperience of the writer-director Anil Viswanath has come into the play with the screenplay. The huge number of twists that keep coming in the narrative just make it predictable. Trying to deliver a character study and twists worked for Polimera. But this one tries to give twists for every character and every scene. This just damages the flow and we wonder why all these are happening and being narrated like flashbacks.
Finally, we just lose interest in the third part. Technically, movie is fine but editing could’ve been better. Even camera work is found wanting at some places. Director lost his grip in story-telling with the screenplay. The twists for the sake of twists hamper the movie, a lot. The performances are fine and BGM is good, too. Overall, movie doesn’t live up to the first one and the hype.

Positives:
Main lead performances
Interesting black magic concepts
Connection with history
Negatives:
Too many Twists
Weak second hour
Over-do in climax
Leaving major story for third part
Maa Oori Polimera 2 Movie Bottom-line: Too Twisted!
