The film industry is always unpredictable. Success and failure often change within a single Friday. An unknown actor or director can suddenly become a star overnight, while others may disappear after one flop. This up-and-down journey is now being linked to popular Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Lokesh shot to fame with Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan. The film was a huge success and made him one of the most wanted directors in Indian cinema. Top stars from different languages, including Rajinikanth, showed interest in working with him. Following Vikram, Rajinikanth even invited him to direct Coolie.

However, things have not gone well since then. Leo with Vijay received mixed responses, and Coolie left fans disappointed. Many expected Lokesh to deliver another film on the scale of Vikram, but his recent projects have not lived up to that promise. Reports suggest that his planned film with Aamir Khan has been cancelled. There is also talk that a multi-starrer with Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth may go to another director.

Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for creating a unique film universe, which fans believed would bring fresh storytelling. But the weak content in Coolie has made many stars hesitant to collaborate with him. Insiders say that even some Telugu superstars, who once wanted to team up with him, are now silent.

In this situation, Lokesh is preparing to restart Kaithi 2 with actor Karthi. The first Kaithi was a breakthrough for both the director and actor. Karthi is reportedly keen, but some doubt remains about whether he will go ahead after the poor response to Coolie.

Industry analysts believe Kaithi 2 could be a turning point. If Lokesh proves himself again, stars and fans may return to support him. Otherwise, his career may face more challenges. For now, his supporters are waiting for that one Friday which can change everything again.
