Actor and producer Dulquer Salmaan has officially denied rumours that the Telugu release of Lokah, originally the Malayalam film Loka Chapter 1: Chandra, will soon appear on OTT platforms. The film, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan as a female superhero, has been a major box office hit since its release on 28 August.

“While it is common for films to eventually release on OTT platforms, rumours suggesting that Lokah will be streaming soon are false. Please do not believe such reports. We will announce officially when the film is ready for OTT,” Dulquer Salmaan clarified, putting fans’ speculation to rest.

Lokah has already collected over ₹250 crore worldwide and continues to draw audiences in theatres. Reports suggest that the film’s strong box office performance and its female-centric storyline are key reasons for postponing any OTT release. Makers are reportedly keen to extend the theatrical run, especially during the Dasara holidays, to maximise collections. Another factor delaying the online release could be that the OTT rights have not yet been sold.

Directed by Dominic Arun on a modest budget of ₹30 crore, Lokah has surpassed expectations. Kalyani Priyadarshan plays Chandra, a woman with superpowers known only to a few. She lives a hidden life in Bengaluru, working in a café, until a series of events dramatically changes her life, turning ordinary days into thrilling adventures.

The film’s action-packed story and unique female superhero concept have made it an unexpected success, establishing Kalyani Priyadarshan as a lead star at the Indian box office. Despite widespread speculation, audiences will have to wait before watching Lokah on any streaming platform. Dulquer Salmaan’s statement makes it clear that no OTT release date has been set, and fans should wait for official announcements.

For now, Lokah will continue to shine in theatres, allowing audiences to experience its excitement on the big screen.
