LGM is the new movie from Harish Kalyan. Ivana who became famous with Love Today is doing the leading lady role. Nadhiya is also doing important supporting character. LGM is also the first production of MS Dhoni’s Dhoni Entertainment. Ramesh Tamilmani has written and directed the film. Let’s discuss how LGM is.
LGM Plot:
Gautham(Harish Kalyan) and Meera(Ivana) are in a relationship from 2 years. Gautham asks Meera’s hand for marriage. While he says LGM, she says, Let’s meet your mother and develop understanding. Gautham’s mother (Nadhiya) is a single mom and protective about him. She doesn’t know about the jitters Meera has. Now, Gautham has to convince his mother to go on a trip with Meera. He wants both the women to come to an understanding and say Let’s Get Married, LGM. See the movie to know more details.

LGM Analysis:
LGM deals with the suspicion every young girl has before the marriage. It tries to address the issue of young girl having jitters and doubts about her in-laws. While the premise is novel and to a point, necessary, the execution leaves us exasperated. Movie could have been better with well-defined characters. Director and writer, Ramesh Tamilmani concentred on the wrapper than the chocolate that truly interests us. He tried to give the chocolate a great wrapper and hoped that we consume based on the wrapper. Rather than the conversations that could give the emotional depth, movie lingers around on weak comedy basis. LGM falters in picking itself from the comedy pieces that are sprinkled around. Concentrating on those sprinkles make the script weaker in second hour.
To be precise, LGM could’ve been something original and quirky fun watch. But it tries to jump around with conversations that try too hard to deliver a punchline. As if someone is asking the director and writer to come up with a comic punchline every scene, the conversations turn into bland and unfunny as the screenplay progresses. With the idea of a would-be mother-in-law and daughter-in-law on a trip, you can have many underlying issues springing up but none come to the fore. Getting to know a person should touch the soul and challenge their emotional values. Film doesn’t explore any such ideas. It just feels like a middle-aged woman going to several places with a young girl rather than them establishing connect. LGM could have been better than this if such perspective has been added.
Nadhiya gave an energetic performance. She tried to make the meal out of small borderlines. LGM needed Ivana and Harish Kalyan pair to work better. While their performances are good enough their characters don’t work. If their characters had inherent fun, movie would’ve worked in a fun manner. Yogi Babu one-liners deliver maximum crackles. LGM wasted a very good opportunity in delivering a fun movie with Novel concept.
LGM Positives:
Nadhiya looks cute
Yogi Babu one-liners
Novel Idea
LGM Negatives:
Unfunny jokes
Drag in second hour
Prolongs too much
Unnecessary scenes
LGM Bottom-line: Tripping on Pointlessness
Pragya Jaiswal looks stunning in Red
