Thalapathy Vijay has come up with movie Leo for Dasara holidays. During the Dasara holidays, the movie took a huge opening worldwide after release on 19th October. Leo opened to a huge Rs.148 crores gross, worldwide. Movie had an unprecedented hype and buzz after Vikram film becoming a huge blockbuster. Lokesh Kanagaraj did not announce LCU connection yet people wanted it. Hence, being connected to it, Leo took a bumper opening.
Movie crossed Rs.40 crores gross collections in Kerala, already. Also, at UK box office, it collected more than 1.25M UK pounds. And at US box office, film took a grand opening with more than 1.5 Million USD in premieres. Leo has said to have collected Total Gross of USD $4,566,792, USA – $3,344,393 and Canada – $1,222,399 Among the languages released it collected likewise, Tamil – $3,737,310, Telugu – $776,347 and Hindi – $53,135. At Australian BO, Leo collected A$ 1.16 Million. Anirudh Ravichander music has created enough buzz for the film to reach so many.
The hype and buzz for the film has reached its pinnacle prior to release. Post release, even though it had mixed reviews, Leo collected Rs. 350 – 400 crores gross at worldwide box office with the hype surrounding it. Tamil Nadu Box office figures have been reported in different ranges by different analysts. Mostly, movie is expected to have crossed Rs.125 crores by Monday. Thalapathy Vijay is happy with Leo box office performance and Lokesh Kangaraj thanked fans for showing such huge response.
