Tollywood filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi is known as one of the most talented directors in the Telugu film industry. He made a strong mark with his very first film Gamyam, which surprised audiences and critics alike with its quality storytelling. Even today, Gamyam is remembered as one of the finest Telugu films.
After that, Krish went on to direct several notable movies such as Vedam, Kanche, Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, Gautamiputra Satakarni, NTR: Kathanayakudu, NTR: Mahanayakudu and Kondapolam. Now, he is preparing to release his latest project, Ghati, a women-centred film starring Anushka Shetty. The film is set to hit the screens on 5 September, and Krish is actively taking part in promotional events.
During one such promotional interview, Krish was asked which film he considers his best. To everyone’s surprise, he mentioned NTR, a film that was widely seen as one of the biggest disappointments of his career.
The NTR biopic was released in two parts and was based on the life of legendary actor and politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Despite the grand scale and strong performances, both films failed at the box office. According to trade reports, timing issues and the lack of certain key elements led to the poor response.
However, Krish explained why he still calls NTR his best work. He said that the film was not just another project for him but a deeply emotional challenge. He revealed that he put his heart and soul into bringing the story of NTR to life and considers it his most heartfelt effort, regardless of its commercial result.
His statement has left fans and industry members surprised, as most expected him to choose Gamyam or Kanche. Krish’s honesty shows that for filmmakers, success is not always measured by collections but by personal satisfaction and the emotional journey behind a film.
