Karthik Subbaraj started his direction career with a good film like Pizza. He catapulted to fame with Jigarthanda film. Later, Karthik Subbaraj made Iraivi, Mercury, Petta, Jagame Thandhiram, Mahaan films. He produced films like Penguin, Triples, Meyaadha Maan, Boomika films. Karthik Subbaraj also made few OTT single segment films in multiple story films like Navarasa, Puthum Pudhu Kaalai. Now, he is back with a sequel for Jigarthanda with Jigarthanda Double X.
Karthik Subbaraj has released a teaser, which he named, “a kindof teaser” for the film announcement. The movie teaser hints at a lower class vs upper class fight story with people being on the rich man side. Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah are acting in lead roles in the film and Santhosh Narayanan is composing music for the sequel too. Here is the teaser of the film.

The first one became a cult classic in Tamil Cinema and it is remade as Gaddalakonda Ganesh in Telugu by Harish Shankar. Now, Jigarthanda DoubleX might have huge shoes to fill as Bobby Simha got a National Award for his performance in the first one. Siddharth found a box office hit in Tamil with the original after a long time too. We have to wait and see, if Karthik Subbaraj will bring the original characters back to connect it as his Jigarthanda universe like Loki Cinematic Universe, LCU.
