Actress Jacqueline Fernandez, known for her glamorous roles in Bollywood and her appearance in the Telugu film Saaho, has been cleared of charges in a high-profile money laundering case. The Delhi High Court recently dismissed all allegations against her, stating that there was not enough evidence to prove her involvement in criminal activity.

Jacqueline Fernandez was previously linked to conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who is currently in jail for his role in a ₹200 crore scam. During the investigation, officials from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned the actress and reported that she had received expensive gifts from Sukesh. These included luxury items worth lakhs of rupees.

In her defence, Jacqueline admitted to receiving gifts from Sukesh but maintained she had no knowledge that they were connected to criminal proceedings or laundered money. She stated clearly that she had no involvement in Sukesh’s illegal financial dealings and had no reason to doubt his identity at the time. The court found her explanation credible and ruled that her connection with Sukesh did not prove her guilty of any wrongdoing.

The case and the negative publicity caused Jacqueline to reportedly lose up to ten film offers across both Bollywood and South Indian cinema. One notable missed opportunity was a role in the Telugu historical film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, opposite Pawan Kalyan. As the case lead Jacqueline Fernandez to lose such big Telugu film, she hopes to give a comeback.

While the court’s ruling is a major relief for the actress, it is unclear how soon she will return to her previous career momentum. Public opinion remains divided, with some supporting her and others questioning her past association with Sukesh.

For now, Jacqueline Fernandez has legally cleared her name; whether this leads to a fresh start in the film industry remains to be seen.
