Megastar Chiranjeevi has decided to turn back the years to Andarivadu, Rickshawvodu days with Waltair Veerayya. After his comeback into films, he did try different kinds of films like Khaidi No.150, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Godfather. Two of them are remakes and now, Waltair Veerayya is an original by Director Bobby aka KS Ravindra, who did films like Jai Lava Kusa, Power, Sardar Gabbar Singh,Venky Mama before. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is acting in this film in a powerful role and this is his second film with Chiranjeevi after Annayya. Shruthi Haasan is sharing screen with Chiranjeevi for the first time.
Now, Team Waltair Veerayya has decided to announce the release date as long before they have confirmed Sankranthi Season release. NBK is also coming with Veera Simha Reddy for same season, hence, the team had to wait and decide which one will be better for them. Now, they have decided on the date as 13th January, 2023. Mythri Movie Makers, the producers have confirmed Waltair Veerayya date with this tweet,

Interestingly, they are also producers of NBK Veera Simha Reddy and the team have announced the release date as 12th January, 2023. Now, with a day gap, Waltair Veerayya is coming on 13th January. Megastar Chiranjeevi vs NBK will be a clash for ages, bringing all the memories back from Khaidi No.150 vs Gautamiputra Satakarni, Narasimha Naidu vs Mrugaraju., Annayya vs Vamshoddharakudu, Lakshmi Narasimha vs Anji, Samara Simha Reddy vs Sneham Kosam, this Sankranthi. Well, both coming from same production house, Mythri Movie Makers is the first time and one time only thing, we are interested about too.
