Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen has grown as a dependable box office star among upcoming actors in Telugu Cinema. Now, he has taken on a gangster role in Gangs of Godavari film, which released on 31st May 2024. The movie is carrying good expectations with viral chartbuster songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja and good trailer cut. Let’s discuss about the movie in detail.

Plot:
Lankala Rathnam (Vishwak Sen), an orphan living in Lanka, does whatever it takes to achieve his goals. With the support of the local youth, he forms a gang to improve his control over Lanka. They come under the wing of the sand mafia leader, Dorasami Raidu (Goparaju Ramanna), and Rathnam gradually increases his stature and power.

It’s during this time that he encounters Bujji (Neha Shetty) and becomes completely enamored, trying to win her over. As Rathnam’s influence grows, so does the number of his enemies. Analysis:
Vishwak Sen has improved over the time as an actor. He performed really in a matured way as Lankala Rathnam. In every scene, he made an effort to make Rathnam, a character with a conscience while things he does are very dark and grey. But in few scenes, he could have pushed himself a bit more to shine.

Gangs of Godavari Movie Review and Rating

Gangs of Godavari depends on our likeability and connectivity with Lankala Rathna. While Vishwak Sen did whatever in his capacity, script had let him down at every step. Screenplay and scenes just try to follow a template rather than connecting us to the world of Lankala Rathna. While he tried to induce masala and political drama into this murky world of Godavari, the amalgamation failed to live up to any expectations.

On top of that, Anjali kind of aj actress has not been used appropriately. Even Neha Sshetty could not really bring any oomph factor to her character as well. Writer-director Krishna Chaitanya did shine in dialogues but in creating an impact with visuals and presentation of the world, he failed considerably.

Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is good but sound mixing is too loud to appreciate his work. Amit Madhadi visuals and even Navin Nooli cuts are not up to the mark. On the whole, Gangs of Godavari could have been a good film but ends up being a convenient and lackluster gangster flick.

Positives:
Vishwak Sen performance
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music
An action sequence

Negatives:
Lackluster Narrative
Routine Screenplay
Highly cliched narrative
Nothing innovative

Gangs of Godavari Movie Bottom-line: Lackluster Gangster!

Gangs of Godavari is a milestone film says Vishwak Sen
