Varun Tej has been looking to attempt different genres. He has turned towards slick action flick with Gandeevadhari Arjuna. Praveen Sattaru who proved his prowess in handling spy thrillers made this film. Sakshi Vaidya has been roped in as female lead for this Gandeevadhari Arjuna. The movie released on 25th August, 2023 worldwide. Makers suggested it brings up an important International aspect in a commercial way. Let’s discuss about Gandeevadhari Arjuna in more detail.
Gandeevadhari Arjuna Plot:
Gandeevadhari Arjuna plot revolves around Arjun Varma(Varun Tej), who retires as an agent from Indian Defence at an early age. He settles in UK to take care of his mother, who is terminally ill. He gets an opportunity to be security guard of Central Minister Adityaraj Bahadur(Nassar). The minister’s life is under threat due to his ex son-in-law Ranveer(Vinay Rai). Why Ranveer targeted Aditya and what he wants to achieve? How Arjuna will save Aditya? Watch the movie Gandeevadhari Arjuna for more details.

Gandeevadhari Arjuna Analysis:
Praveen Sattaru with Garudavega showcased skill in executing spy agent genre action films. He could not deliver with Nagarjuna’s Ghost. The talented director repeated same mistakes with Gandeevadhari Arjuna. Ghost has a protagonist who can eliminate gangs and mafia bigwigs bow to him. Other than that Ghost offers nothing more fresh or spicy to view. Gandeevadhari Arjuna follows similar path to Taken and few other Liam Neeson brand action films. Interestingly, a young agent retires early and becomes a private security agent in UK. Well, an Indian agent being appointed to protect a Central Minister in Foreign Country would serve the same purpose rather than him retiring. Gandeevadhari Arjuna at concept level missed the plot and lacked a guide like Krishna (script) to bring him back into the battlefield.
The stylish presentation of the action sequences and Varun Tej could not substitute to a strong plot. Sardar used the spy agent and water becoming a saleable commodity in a very effective way. Gandeevadhari Arjuna fails in understanding the international political and justice angle that a complex subject like medical waste dumpyard requires. The script looks like aimed at fear mongering rather than effectively presenting the problem. Gandeevadhari Arjuna needed laser-eyed focus that Garudavega had for major part of that film. Praveen Sattaru seems to have concentrated on action sequences a little too much without proper set-up and pay-offs.
Varun Tej looked stylish and at his best in the film. His looks and screen presence are magnetic but he needs a good script to deliver. Sakshi Vaidya after Agent again became a victim of another weakly written spy action film. All others have nothing much to do. Gandeevadhari Arjuna needed to have better scripting, pacing and narrative to really engage us. It just keeps moving on the generic and predictable lines. Spy films need jaw-dropping awe in either action scenes or plot thickening twists. Even Mission Impossible kind off popular franchise films have failed with over reliance on stunts. Unfortunately, Gandeevadhari Arjuna did not learn from those mistakes!
Gandeevadhari Arjuna Positives:
Varun Tej looks and performance
One Action sequence
Important cause
Gandeevadhari Arjuna Negatives:
No Depth in Writing
Lack of stakes
Generic Characters
Over-stretched Climax
Gandeevadhari Arjuna Bottom-line: Not Krishna’s Arjun!
