Gadar 2 has not been anticipated to be a huge blockbuster. Sunny Deol has not been able to create similar storm at box office like he did in 90’s and early 2000’s. Almost after Gadar, he did not have big blockbusters at box office. Now, he has made a shocking come back at the box office with Gadar 2. The original movie has been a huge blockbuster that it overpowered Lagaan at box office. Now, Gadar 2 has shown how mass loved the film, back then.
Anil Sharma, the director of the original, before making the sequel stated that his sequel would make 500 crores at box office. Gadar 2 has not been able to bring audiences to theatres in Overseas markets. But the movie has been able to pull huge crowds in mass belts. Gadar 2 is set to create huge records in Rajasthan, East Punjab, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai and Jharkhand mass circuits. The movie is smashing Pathaan records at certain places as well.
The movie doesn’t have similar contribution as Pathaan did in South Indian markets and Overseas markets. So, Gadar 2 cannot challenge the worldwide gross but Indian Nett and Gross are in danger. It has collected 30 crores Nett on 6th Day, Wednesday as well. Movie has collected over 227.30 crores over Independence Day weekend. With 6th day as well trading over 30 and close to 35 crores Nett, movie is expected to collect over 550 crores Nett. Gadar has toppled Shah Rukh Khan’s previous all-time grosser and now Gadar 2 is likely to do so. Nostalgia factor has driven masses to the cinema halls like never.
