Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan may have passionate fan bases that often argue online about who is greater, but the two stars continue to show nothing but friendship and mutual respect in real life. A heartwarming example of this was seen recently when Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise visit to the sets of Aamir’s upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par.
In a behind-the-scenes video shared by the makers of the film, Shah Rukh is seen walking onto the set unannounced, much to the delight and surprise of Aamir and the cast. The film features several actors with Down’s syndrome, and Shah Rukh took time to meet and interact with each of them.
The superstar revealed that Aamir had invited him several times to visit the set. “Aamir has told me at least ten times to come and meet the actors as they are doing really well,” Shah Rukh shared during his visit. “I didn’t get time earlier but every day I meet him, he tells me to come.”
The visit turned emotional and joyful as Shah Rukh was greeted with cheers. He spent time chatting with the actors, who excitedly asked him to say iconic dialogues from his famous films like Darr, Chak De! India, Don, and Baazigar. One of the actors, Simran Mangeshkar, introduced herself and mentioned she is 26 years old—prompting Shah Rukh to warmly respond, “Just like my son Aryan.”
He also delighted the group by performing his signature open-arms pose, which sent the cast into a happy frenzy. The video ends with Shah Rukh taking a group photo with Aamir and the entire team, marking a moment filled with genuine affection.
Sitaare Zameen Par is seen as a spiritual successor to Aamir Khan’s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, in which he played a compassionate art teacher helping a child with a learning disability. In the upcoming film, Aamir plays a reluctant basketball coach for children with intellectual disabilities. The film, which also stars Genelia Deshmukh, is set to hit cinemas on 20 June.
This touching behind-the-scenes moment has reminded fans that while competition may exist in the industry, true friendship always shines brighter.
