Tollywood producer DVV Danayya seems to have struck luck once more with his latest release, OG. The film, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan and directed by Sujeeth, is produced under Danayya’s banner in collaboration with his son. Early reports indicate that the movie is already performing exceptionally well, suggesting that the producer’s Midas touch is still very much alive.
Danayya, a veteran in the industry, began his career over three decades ago with the 1990 release Jambalakidi Pamba. Since then, he has produced several successful films under the DVV Entertainments banner, including July and Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu. His recent blockbuster, RRR, brought him massive profits and international acclaim, even earning recognition at an Oscar level. The worldwide success of RRR exceeded expectations and firmly established him as one of Tollywood’s top producers.
Industry buzz suggests that OG was made on a substantial budget of around ₹200 crore, with ₹100 crore allocated for talent remuneration and another ₹100 crore for production and promotion. Despite the high costs, the film’s non-theatrical rights have reportedly been sold for ₹113 crore, while worldwide theatrical rights fetched over ₹180 crore. In total, the film has already recovered nearly ₹300 crore, surpassing its production budget even before release.
Trade analysts are optimistic about OG’s prospects, suggesting that strong pre-release business and positive audience buzz could lead to a significant box office surge. Many predict that the film could bring Danayya profits comparable to his record-breaking success with RRR.
As OG hits theatres, fans and industry watchers are eager to see whether it lives up to the hype and confirms DVV Danayya’s continued luck in Tollywood. With early numbers already exceeding expectations, the film is poised to make a mark both commercially and critically.
