The much-talked-about Telugu film sequel Devara 2 has reportedly shelved, creating disappointment among fans. Director Koratala Siva is said to have decided to step away from the sequel for now and focus on other film projects instead.
Devara, starring Jr NTR, was released with very high expectations. The film created strong buzz before its release due to the star power and the director’s past success. While the movie managed to perform decently at the box office, the response from audiences and critics was mixed. Many felt the story did not fully meet expectations, which affected plans for a second part.
At the end of Devara, the makers hinted that the story would continue in a sequel. This raised excitement among fans, who were eager to see how the plot would develop. However, delays, changing priorities and busy schedules have now made the sequel uncertain.
Jr NTR is currently committed to several big projects. He is working on a high-budget action film directed by Prashanth Neel, followed by another film with director Trivikram Srinivas. With such a packed schedule, finding time for Devara 2 has become difficult.
Because of these delays, Koratala Siva is reportedly planning a new film instead. Industry talk suggests he may collaborate with senior star Nandamuri Balakrishna on his next project. This possible new partnership has already created interest within film circles.
The decision of Devara 2 being shelved also reflects a wider trend in the film industry. Producers are becoming cautious about making sequels, especially when the first film does not receive a fully positive response. Rising costs and unpredictable audience reactions have made multi-part films a risky choice.
For now, there has been no official statement saying that Devara 2 has been cancelled completely. It may still happen in the future if dates and conditions improve. Until then, fans will have to wait and focus on the upcoming films from Jr NTR and Koratala Siva.
