Indian film star Deepika Padukone is set to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking a major milestone in her international career. The announcement was made as part of the 2026 class of honourees, chosen by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Padukone joins an impressive list of names set to receive the honour next year, including actors Timothée Chalamet, Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Miley Cyrus, and Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard. Others selected include Italian actor Franco Nero, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, and several figures from television, music, and live performance.
Known for her work in Indian cinema, Padukone has steadily built her global reputation. From walking the red carpet at Cannes and attending the Met Gala to presenting at the Golden Globes and unveiling the FIFA World Cup trophy, her international appearances have gained wide recognition. She also made her Hollywood debut alongside Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
In addition to her acting work, Padukone has featured on TIME magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people and was included in Variety’s International Women’s Impact Report.
The names were selected on 20 June by a special committee and later confirmed by the board on 25 June. The Walk of Fame selection committee’s chairman, Peter Roth, said in a statement, “We are delighted to reveal the 35 individuals chosen for the Class of 2026. Their outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment have earned them this well-deserved recognition.”
Padukone’s star on the iconic boulevard will be a proud moment not just for her, but also for Indian cinema on the global stage.
