Dayaa Analysis:
Dayaa is all about a truck driver and the thriller builds on you with each episode. Few portions get too lengthy after the start. Writing with each episode grows on us but then there are cliches that could’ve been avoided. Mythological connections land and the cause for women safety is well written. Few scenes and BGM could have been better. Dayaa relies on performances more than writing at points and delivers twist for twist sake at places. Predictability does work against it in few episodes. Dayaa works as the execution is pretty good and performances hold it all together.
JD Chakravarthy gave a very controlled and inspired performance. He is as ernst as he is in Satya. Josh Ravi came out as a surprise in Dayaa as he made a great impression. Ramya Nambesan and Eesha Rebba give a good impression too. Vishnu Priya and others did not fit as much as others did. Actor who did Kabir role is the find of this series. Dayaa works because of these performances and manages to hold interest for most part. The thriller series is well made and holds us for its pacing and narrative style. Dayaa is a binge-worthy material and the season 2 has lot of potential to make it even better and bigger.
Dayaa Positives:
JD Chakravarthy and Ramya performances
Pacing & Narration
Interesting plot
Dayaa Negatives:
Lengthy at places
Music doesn’t always land
Could’ve avoided few cliches
Dayaa Web-series Bottom-line: Good Fun to Watch
