Chiyaan Vikram is coming up with a complete raw period drama, Thangalaan. Pa. Ranjith is writing and directing this film. Movie is said to be about a tribe that has been forgotten in Tamil landscape. Studio Green is producing the movie. Chiyaan Vikram has again transformed himself into the character and he even got hurt while shooting. The movie teaser has been released on 1st November, 2023.
Thangalaan seems to be a story about a tribe trying to save their land from the English people. The tribe could be saving the land that has gold reserves in it. At the teaser release event, Chiyaan Vikram has stated that he worked very hard for this one. He stated that he lived like KGF film workers for this movie. He also expressed huge confidence on the movie and stated that it will be a big hit like Kantara.
He also called Pa. Ranjith has his favourite director. He called the movie as his biggest bet in recent times. He wished the movie to become a huge Pan-India success. Pa. Ranjith has praised commitment of Chiyaan Vikram. He stated that he kept pushing his lead actor, even though he knew Chiyaan Vikram went through rib injury. He praised Vikram for not saying no, ever. He stated that he did not want to go for one-more but he had to.
He stated that the movie will have Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy, Pasupathy, Muthu Kumar kind of actors’ best performances. Pa. Ranjith also praised GV Prakash Kumar for his compositions. He stated that he movie will be realistic and entire team along with VFX people have worked hard to realise that dream. Thangalaan will release on 26th January, 2024, worldwide.
