Akhanda, Love Story, Pushpa The Rise, RRR, KGF Chapter 2, Bangarraju have become hits for Telugu distributors to get some respite after pandemic. Telugu states had to see a huge loss in revenue as there are many film lovers and film viewing is second favourite or first favourite pastime activity for almost everyone.
Radhe Shyam and Acharya failed big time at the box office as after the first day, the films could not manage to bring in audiences to the theatres. Mostly, Trade expected Radhe Shyam to fail as huge budget was spent on love story and for the budget spent, it could end up being a cost failure, even if the movie turned out to be good. Acharya failure hurt many the most.
With Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi coming together on screen for the first time, audience showing so less interest to watch the film, has shocked the trade pundits. Now, Sarkaaru Vaari Paata is releasing on 12th May. Telangana State Government and Andhra Pradesh State Government have granted permission to the movie team to hike the ticket prices.
Single Screens in Telangana can charge up to Rs 210 and Multiplexes up to Rs. 350, 390. Andhra Pradesh theatres can charge Rs. 45 more than usual. Well, Acharya team tried to mint money using this hike but it turned out to be a suicidal move for them. Sarkaaru Vaari Paata has Keerthy Suresh playing the lead role and several popular artists in supporting roles.
So, people will be excited to watch Superstar Mahesh’s scenes with all of them. Director Parasuram Petla did not leave any stone unturned as he wrote a screenplay that has space for Kalavathi kind of a melody song and Ma Ma Mahesha kind of a mass beat song. Movie has a hit audio to boost audience’s interest. With so many positives, greed of theatre owners should not kill the openings of the movie like in the case of Acharya.
We hope, producers and distributors will sit and finalize a decent amount that guarantees good collections throughout the run rather than going for profits in first weekend.
