Veteran Bollywood producer Mukesh Bhatt has opened up about his strained relationship with his elder brother Mahesh Bhatt, revealing how years of professional and personal disagreements have created distance between them.
The two siblings, who once ran the successful production company Vishesh Films together, reportedly began to drift apart over creative and business decisions. Tensions reportedly intensified over control of certain film rights, including the popular Aashiqui series. Mukesh admitted that differing opinions and outside influences contributed to widening the gap between them.
Mukesh also expressed disappointment over not being invited to his niece Alia Bhatt’s wedding to Ranbir Kapoor. He described the exclusion as deeply upsetting and said he has not yet met Alia’s daughter, citing a wish to avoid causing any discomfort or tension within the family.
Despite the challenges, Mukesh stressed that there has been no public confrontation or open feud. He reflected on relationships fading naturally over time, saying that sometimes parting ways quietly is better than allowing resentment to build. His words suggest a desire to preserve dignity rather than escalate conflict.
Speaking about his brother, Mukesh remained emotional and respectful, describing Mahesh as someone he deeply admires and continues to care for. He emphasised that the affection between them endures, even if their interactions have become limited.
The split appears to be both personal and professional. Mukesh officially took control of Vishesh Films in 2021, and Mahesh no longer holds an active role in the company. Despite this, Mukesh indicated that he does not harbour anger and hopes for peace between them in the future, hinting that reconciliation could be possible under the right circumstances.
This revelation offers a rare glimpse into the private lives of two of Bollywood’s most influential figures, showing that even close family bonds can be tested by business pressures and personal differences. Mukesh’s reflections paint a picture of a relationship marked by love, regret, and the complex realities of life in the film industry.
