Baby Movie Plot:
Baby Movie deals with romance between Anand(Anand Deverakonda) and Vaishnavi(Vaishnavi Chaitanya). Both fall in love in school and then they continue to stay true to each other. Anand unable to comcehtate on studies become an Auto Driver. Vaishnavi goes to college for Degree. There she is treated as a third grade citizen by her co-students. Seetha(Seetha) befriends her for selfish reasons and Vaishnavi meets Viraj(Viraj Ashwin).
Seetha and Viraj being rich, to give confidence to Vaishnavi, change her look. Vaishnavi from a Basti girl transforms to look like a model. Viraj proposes to Vaishnavi at a party while Anand calls her that she looks like a prostitute. What happens now? Will she chose Viraj or Anand? If she chooses one, how will another one react? Baby Movie Analysis:
Baby movie is written and directed by Sai Rajesh. He produced and wrote films like Hridaya Kaleyam, Kobbari Matta and Color Photo. The movie team created buzz and expectations with Vijay Bulganin song – O Rendu Prema Meghalu. The trailer also lent to the buzz along with creative posters. While many can guess how the story moves, Sai Rajesh had to hold our interest and create a world that is believable. Baby movie tries to live in its own world rather than moving close to reality. There are some sequences that would connect with people who fell in love but then film stretches into unreasonable zone very soon.
While Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya are likeable, their conversations suffer with over dramatisation. Either writer felt that Teenagers speak like this only or he tried to keep it like that. Baby movie suffers with some problematic conversations too. The mindset it tries to sell by starting the story and ending it in Anand’s perspective seems unconvincing and backward. While it is not a problem to have a flawed lead, making that lead character as protagonist obviously leads us to believe that even makers endorse the same. If so, that is highly problematic and amateurish. In films like Arjun Reddy, Kotha Bangaru Lokam and Ranjhaanaa, we see problematic leads yet writing doesn’t seem to push them as “heroes”. Baby does the very mistake of trying to justify everything from one point of view.
Even if that is not the intention, it feels so. Baby is a revelation for Vaishnavi Chaitanya. She is good and has bright future. Anand Deverakonda has improved from his previous movies. He needs a few more tips to pull off lengthy monologues. Viraj Ashwin is decent. All others did not get much to do. Vijay Bulganin did his best for songs but BGM could’ve been better. Technically movie is good. But it stretches too much with some never ending conversations in second hour. Baby Movie is decent for small budget but writing could’ve been much better.
