Anni Manchi Shakunamule Plot:
Anni Manchi Shakunamule cinema starts off by introducing us to Victoria Puram, that got its name in 1895. The village has a popular coffee estate, KJ Coffee Estates among the rich plantations in the hill station. The story moves 80 years, we see Prasad(Rajendra Prasad) and Diwakar(Rao Ramesh) fighting in court for the ownership of KJ Coffee Estates. Diwakar stays unmarried and his brother Doctor Sudhakar(Naresh) doesn’t have kids for some time. Prasad’s wife(Gauthami) and Sudhakar’s wife go to hospital for delivery at the same time. Their kids exchange due to a drunkard doctor Jagadamba(Urvashi). Anni Manchi Shakunamule takes a leap of few years, here.
Rishi(Santhosh Shoban) and Aarya(Malavika Nair) become close friends. But due to some issues between them, they stay away from each other. Anni Manchi Shakunamule takes another leap and Rishi becomes a happy-go-lucky with an affinity for food. Aarya is more money-minded and wants to change her family’s financial turmoil. Anni Manchi Shakunamule Analysis:
Santhosh Shoban has ease in his body language and he played the character well. Malavika Nair looked good and performed well. But their characters in Anni Manchi Shakunamule did not come out as well as director anticipated. Movie needed much better writing with the point they have taken. B.V. Nandini Reddy tried hard to induce emotions in the movie. Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, Naresh have been under used. Gautami and Vasuki also doesn’t get much to do. Anni Manchi Shakunamule suffers with under written dialogues and screenplay.
Anni Manchi Shakunamule had an interesting premise of warring families having to become parents of their rivals’ kids. This kind of concept with good music and strong scenes, could’ve been a watchable film. Anni Manchi Shakunamule suffers in editing, music and writing departments too much. The narration drags every scene to the death and some emotions feel too forced. Had the writing been good and tight, movie would have been much better.
