Akshay Kumar has been coming up with multiple number of films every year. This year, he has been part of Selfiee and OMG 2, already. Now, Akshay Kumar has scheduled Mission Raniganj for 6th October weekend release. The movie talks about rescue operation in a mine at Raniganj Coalfields, West Bengal. Akshay Kumar is playing the role of a real life engineer, Jaswant Singh Gill.
In the year 1989, Jaswant has played a major part in rescue operation at a coal mine. His bravery and intelligence, timely response has helped in saving lives of 56 coal miners. Miners got trapped in a flood and Jaswant rescued them. Akshay Kumar has decided to make a film on this rescue operation. Now, it is hitting theatres as Mission Raniganj. Parineeti Chopra is playing leading lady role in the movie. Akshay Kumar can be seen giving his all in the character in the trailer.
Movie has a very low buzz relative to any other Akshay Kumar starrer. Makers seem to have kept a low profile for the film. Still, the trailer looks interesting and like Aramm, starring Nayanthara. Already, Kaala Patthar film has made rescue of coal miners memorable, several years ago. We have to wait and see, if Mission Raniganj can achieve similar status. Tinu Suresh Desai, who made Rustom with Akshay Kumar, is directing this film.
