Ahimsa is the new movie from Director Teja. He made Nuvvu Nenu with the production house that produced this movie. Ahimsa marks debut of Abhiram and Geethika. Rajat Bedi, Sadha, Ravi Kale played important roles in this movie. After a long time, Teja has come up with a love story like he did with Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu and Jayam. Ahimsa Plot:
Ahmisa is the gritty revenge story of a couple Raghu(Abhiram) and Ahalya(Geethika). Raghu and Ahalya are cousins. They fall in love and think about their future. Their families take a decision to get them engaged. But post engagement, Ahalya gets sexually harassed. She wants revenge for this and Raghu supports her. Lawyer Lakshmi(Sadha) helps them. Ahimsa Analysis:
Ahimsa comes from Teja school of romances. He tried to go back to his vintage stories after trying different genres. But it doesn’t have that vintage Writing of his. He seems to be thinking loudness is equal to good performance. The plot has interesting idea of a non-violent person trying to fight for his loved one. Also, a male fighting for a “wronged female”. But the director doesn’t get Ahmisa emotional core right.
Sameer Reddy cinematography and RP Patnaik music doesn’t live up to their reputation. One song is shot better than others. Ahimsa also has very amateurish performances and dialogues. Teja tried to bring back Jayam memories in this movie but failed miserably. Movie just ends up testing patience as we complete it. Ahmisa doesn’t live up to the standards set by Teja with his vintage movies in any sense.
