Agent Movie Plot:
Ramakrishna aka Ricky(Akhil Akkineni) from young age dreams about becoming a RAW Agent. His inspiration is RAW Chief Devil(Mammootty) and he tries to enter straight but fails thrice. So, Ricky decides to hack Devil’s phone and helps him catch Irfan. Still, Devil doesn’t include him in RAW. Dharma aka God(Dino Morea) challenges Devil to stop him in his big mission. Devil decides to give Ricky, a chance after testing him. He asks him to break up with his love interest Vidya(Sakshi Vaidhya) and join his mission. Can Ricky sacrifice his love to become an Agent? Agent Movie Analysis:
Akhil Akkineni looked like a body builder and he worked hard to achieve the body. In few scenes, he showcased his growing maturity in performing drama. Action and Dancing also look great. While his skills have been on full display, Agent script failed to do justice for his efforts. Sakshi Vaidhya looked beautiful. Mammootty with his performance gave few scenes life. Dino Morea did not suit the character. Cinematography is good and BGM is too loud. It overpowered few lines in many scenes. Agent suffered with third grade VFX work but production design is good.
Surender Reddy has a tendency to go overboard with elevation and action scenes. Here he went overboard with drama scenes too. The hero character needed to be as unique as Ravi Teja’s in Kick. But here, in trying to unpredictable, it becomes too predictable. The hero character looks like a cross between Oosaravelli’s Jr. NTR and Dhruva’s Ram Charan. The problem is Agent lacks seriousness over the mission and unpredictablility in actions. Surender Reddy in form, might have decided to add Lucky from Race Gurram to the mix. In trying to handle Hero and Villian as two sides of one coin, he failed to design both of them strong enough. Basically, Agent lacks the clarity he showed in Dhruva and Race Gurram in handling action and emotions in a balanced. He went too wild in every aspect and made it unengaging to major extent.
