Megastar Chiranjeevi is coming with Acharya after a gap of three years. The actor did not anticipate such a huge gap post Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy film but pandemic and RRR shoot delays propelled the delays in production of Acharya too. Writer-Director Koratala Siva started the movie post the release of Sye Raa and he started working on script post the release of his film, Bharat Ane Nenu with Superstar Mahesh. Due to the delays, Siva faced huge stress and pressure but he managed to stay cool and finish the movie with the help of his team and Megastar, Ram Charan.
Movie is getting ready for a release on 29th April, Worldwide and successful filmmaker, SS Rajamouli attended the recently concluded pre-release event. Post RRR, this is second multi-starrer for Ram Charan and a dream come true for Chiranjeevi family fans or as they love to refer themselves, Mega Fans. As the movie is releasing post three huge budget releases Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas, Pooja Hegde directed by Radhakrishna, RRR starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn directed by Rajamouli and KGF Chapter 2 starring Kannada Star hero Yash, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty directed by Prashanth Neel, expectations from trade and public are equally high. One can say that trade has huge expectations than the public.
Fans are excited to watch Megastar Chiranjeevi and Mega Power Star Ram Charan in one frame. But same is not the case with general audiences and they seem to be slightly skeptical as the current bookings trend indicates very low excitement for the film. Movie is trending low as 15% of total potential collections are projected by trade at current booking speed. Trade is expecting bookings to speed up from Thursday afternoon. High ticket rates could be playing an hindrance for the families to rush to theatres during the opening weekend. The rates almost similar to KGF Chapter 2 rates in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Both the state governments allowed for extra fifth show during the weekend and for hike in rates as well. Trade want to see similar rush like what RRR and KGF Chapter 2 have experienced at the box office windows on April 29th. We have to wait and see, if that will be the case on opening day.
Inside reports from trustworthy sources suggest that the film is going to start in regular “Koratala tempo” and then explode in second half post Siddha aka Ram Charan’s entry. Reports also suggest that Ram Charan’s character will enter in the film during interval sequence and the intro scene of Ram Charan is said to be the major highlight of the film. Chiranjeevi will be seen fighting for fictional devotional town, Padagattam. Filmmakers did not reveal how Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan meet in the film but it looks like they have naxal background, going by what makers revealed in teasers, trailers.
Action sequences involving Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi have come out well, say reports. While initial bookings are low compared to RRR, post release trade is expecting a huge bump with positive word of mouth. Mani Sharma is composing music for a Megastar film after more than a decade gap. Saana Kashtam and Laahe Laahe songs from the album have already been huge hits. Matinee Entertainment and Konidela Productions are producing the film.
