
Sattu is a popular food item which belongs to Indian cuisine. It is majorly prepared by grinding either black chickpeas or barley. Sattu is rich in protein, fiber, and other essential nutrients, making it a nutritious and healthy food option. 1.As paratha filling:-
Make your desi protein shake by substituting protein powder with sattu powder. This drink is not only rich in protein but is also a refreshing pick during the hot summer months. Take 1 cup of water and mix 2-3 tablespoons of sattu powder in it. Add salt as per taste along with ¼ tbsp roasted cumin powder. Adding a few drops of lemon will give it a refreshing taste. Now just mix or shake the ingredients in a shaker to make the final drink. Have it as a pre-workout or post-workout drink.
Added too much water to the curry and now it has lost its consistency? Make curry thicker and tastier by adding sattu powder to it. Adding sattu powder will give an earthy flavor to the curry and will also make it thicker at the same time.
4.Sattu Laddoos:-
You need to make Sattu Laddoos at home and we are sure that you will love them. Made with just a handful of common kitchen ingredients, you can make some delicious melt-in-mouth laddoos. To make them, heat ¾ cup ghee in a pan. Add 2 cups of sattu powder and mix well. Mix continuously and roast the mixture on low flame till it turns golden brown in color. Once the mixture attains a thick consistency, take it out on a plate. Let it cool down for a while. Now add 1 cup of powdered sugar and mix well. Add 3-4 tbsp of crushed nuts of your choice and give a final mix. Now just make laddoos with the mixture and enjoy.
If you often make cutlets and tikkis, you will know that usually potato is used as a binding agent. But if you want to make a healthier and low-carb version of cutlets, then without using potatoes, the binding process becomes a bit tricky. To bind your cutlets and give them a proper shape, you can use sattu powder. Make a mixture for the cutlets by chopping all the veggies you need. You can also add paneer and shredded soya for extra protein content. Now just add sattu powder as per need and mix to make a thick mixture. With this mixture, you will easily be able to make cutlets.
