Navratri is here and it’s time to workship Goddess Durga and immerse the soul in devotion. The 9-day long fast calls for several restrictions, but what about the snack cravings? If you too are fasting for Navratri, then here are 5 homemade snacks which you can have on Vrat which are low in calories and great in taste.

1.Sweet Potato Fries​:-

Wash and peel sweet potatoes. Soak them in warm water and run through cold water. Next, coat the slices in sendha namak, roasted cumin powder and black pepper. Take a baking tray and line it with parchment paper and bake the fries. Alternatively, you can also grease the pan with some ghee and bake the fries on low flame and enjoy.
2.Beetroot Cutlets​:-
This healthy and savoury recipe can be made in just a few minutes and can be relished as a tea time snack. To make this, take a large bowl and add grated beetroot, 1 boiled potato, 3 tbsp chopped peanuts, 3 tbsp buckwheat flour, green chilies, ginger paste, salt and pepper. Knead the dough, extract dough balls and give desired shapes. Meanwhile, grease a pan and place the cutlets, cook by flipping sides. You can also make this in an airfryer and serve hot.
3.Suran Chips​:-
To make vrat-friendly suran chips, wash the elephant foot yam and cut into super thin slices. Parboil them with a dash of salt and then run through cold water to retain the texture. Take the slices, add lemon juice, ginger paste, black pepper, sendha namak and roasted cumin powder. Take a tray and layer these chips and allow them to sun dry or airfry the chips. You can also cook the chips by greasing a nonstick pan and placing them on the pan, flip the sides and cook the chips and enjoy anytime.
4.Paneer Bites:-
To make these quick and healthy snacks, take paneer and chop them into small pieces and coat them in a mixture of curd, roasted cumin seeds, sendha namak, coriander leaves and ginger paste. Take a pan and grease it with some ghee, place the paneer pieces and cook by flipping sides and enjoy with chutney.

To make this healthy and tasty low-calorie snack. Take a non-stick pan and grease it with some ghee, add in 1 cup of makhana (fox nuts) followed by 1 cup of peanuts, almonds. Transfer these to a bowl and add in a pinch of sendha namak, pepper and add in a dash of sugar along with chopped dried coconut.
