So, if you have been facing early signs of sleeplessness, then you still have time to reverse the condition by switching to a healthy diet and a better lifestyle. Basically there are a few warm homemade drinks, which are also great for inducing sleep and healing the nerves naturally. Now let us have a look on what all can you drink when you are suffering from Insomnia:-

1.Saffron Milk/ Tea:-

Drinking herbal tea like Saffron tea at bedtime can help in relaxing the nerves, reduce the stress and induce sleep. Since age saffron has been used for its potent medicinal properties that work as a mood lifter, reduces anxiety and early signs of depression and induces sleep. Mixing it with milk further improves the efficacy of the drink as milk contains a compound called Tryptophan.

2.Fennel, almond milk:-

Making a mixture of powdered fennel seeds, almonds and mishri in 1:1:1 ratio and mixing around 1 tbsp of the powder to warm milk and drinking this before bed time will not only reduce irregularity of sleep, but also boosts metabolism and ensures sound sleep. Apart from that, the addition of fennel and omega 3 rich almonds helps in improving vision and reduces the effect of long-time screen exposure and also reduces the effect of macular degeneration of eyes.

3.​Chamomile Tea:-
Drinking a cup of Chamomile tea before sleeping can help in relaxing the nerves, reducing anxiety and induce sleep. Apart from that, drinking this tea daily can not only fix irregular sleep patterns, but also help in improving heart health and ensure healthy metabolism. To make this tea, take 2 cups of water, boil it nicely. Add in 1 tsp tea, strain it and add honey. Enjoy.

4.​Lavender tea:-
To make this quick tea, take a pan and boil water, steep the lavender flowers or tea bag. Strain the tea and enjoy it with honey. Drinking this tea improves sleep quality, helps in inducing sleep faster and also reduces the cell damage caused due to presence of free radicals. Lavender has a high concentration of nutrients and antioxidants that help in better cell regeneration and boost metabolic health.

This age-old herb has been used as an active ingredient in most Ayurvedic medicines, this is because of the presence of antioxidants in this tea, which helps in relaxing the nerves, reduces stress, depressive symptoms and helps in treating sleeplessness and also helps in improving sleep quality. To begin with, just brew ½ tsp Ashwagandha powder or root in water and drink it with honey. To increase its efficacy milk can also be used in this tea.
