Dinner is the second most important meal of the day while Breakfast remains to be the first. If you are trying to lose weight, then modifying your dinner diet may work wonders. This is because dinner is the last meal of the day and the body’s metabolic rate goes down, compared to that in the first half of the day. Therefore, it is advised to keep your dinner light and also eat it as early as possible, maximum by 8 in the evening.

1. ​Sabudana khichdi recipe for dinner-

-1 cup sabudana

-1/2 cup peanut

-2 tbsp ghee

-1 tsp cumin seeds

-3 to 4 whole dried red pepper

-1 sprig curry leaves

-2 tsp white rock salt

-1 tsp chili powder

-1 tbsp coriander leaves

-1 tbsp lemon juice

Wash sabudana and soak it in water for an hour. Once soaked, drain it out and make sure there is no water left before you start cooking. Now mix the sabudana with shelled, coarsely pounded and roasted peanuts, salt and chili powder.

Take a pan and heat ghee in it. Add the cumin seeds, whole dried red pepper, and curry leaves. When the red pepper begins to darken, add the sabudana mixture and let it cook for a few minutes on low heat. Once ready, take it off the heat and serve with lemon juice. Garnish with coriander leaves.

2.​ Zucchini pasta for dinner:-

-2 tbsp olive oil

-1/2 yellow and 1/2 green zucchini

-2 green chilies

-3 to 4 cloves of garlic

-2 stalks spring onions

-6 to 8 cherry tomatoes

-Salt and pepper to taste

-2 to 3 basil leaves

-100 gram spaghetti

Take a pan, once heated, add oil and zucchini. Next, add chopped green chilies and bashed garlic. Add sliced spring onions. Add salt and pepper as per taste. Now, add the basil leaves. Cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water. Once soft and cooked, add it to the zucchini mix. Stir fry a little and serve when ready.

3. Oats idli for dinner-

-2 1/2 cup oats

-1/2 tsp baking soda

-3 pinches salt

-1 tsp green chili

-1 tsp asafoetida

-2 tsp mustard seeds

-2 1/2 cup semolina

-6 tbsp peas

-1 handful coriander leaves

-1 1/2 cup yogurt

-6 tbsp carrot

-1/2 cup sunflower oil

-400 ml buttermilk

Wash and chop all the vegetables. Dry roast the oats, let it cool and grind it into a powder. Next, dry roast semolina, let it cool, and then combine it with the roasted oats.

Now take a kadhai, add oil and then mustard seeds in it. After a few seconds, add the chopped veggies along with peas, thinly chopped green chili and saute for a minute or two. To this, add the oats mixture. Next, add salt, asafoetida, coriander leaves, cooking soda, yogurt and buttermilk. Mix well to form an idli batter consistency. Cover and let it sit for a few minutes. Pour the batter into greased idli plates and cook. Serve hot.

4. ​Egg chaat for dinner:-

-3 boiled eggs

-1 tsp tomato chili sauce

-3 tsp tamarind extract

-1 tsp lemon juice

-1 tsp roasted cumin powder

-Salt to taste

-1 green chilly

-1 spring onion, chopped

Take a bowl and mix tomato chili sauce, tamarind extract, lemon juice, roasted cumin powder, finely chopped green chili and salt. Slice the boiled eggs into two. Spread the chutney over the eggs. Sprinkle chopped spring onion and garam masala. Serve.
