PM Narendra Modi has visited ISRO Head Quarters in Bengaluru on 26th August, 2023. He directly landed in Bengaluru after his two nations tour of Greece and South Africa. PM Narendra Modi met with ISRO scientists and congratulated them for their immaculate win. He gave a slogan to celebrate the successful moon landing on 23rd August 2023 and said, “‘Jai Vigyan Jai Anusandhan'”. PM Narendra Modi also suggested to name the landing place as “Shiv Shakthi”.

ISRO chairman S. Somnath received PM Narendra Modi himself and PM hugged each and every member of ISRO team for such a commendable achievement. To refresh your memory, ISRO has been able land Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft near South Pole of Moon. India has become first country to land near South Pole of Moon and 4th country to pull-off soft landing on Moon.

On 23rd August, 2023, PM Narendra Modi joined live during ISRO monitoring landing on Moon and witnessed the monumental landing live along with 7.8 Million people. He wished to directly meet ISRO scientists upon his return to India and spoke emotionally about the victory.

He shed tears while appreciating the immaculate efforts of scientists. He stated that India will celebrate 23rd August forever and announced the day as “National Space Day”. PM Narendra Modi heaped praises on ISRO scientists stated that they have brought India into front row from third row with their efforts. He also stated that “Tiranga”(Indian National Flag) will now fly on Moon and not only on top of Indian houses.

He described that he got nervous and kept thinking about Moon landing even though he had been busy in South Africa. PM Narendra Modi remarked that ISRO kind of insitutions are putting India on the world map and making everyone notice the progress of the nation. He thanked them and said that nation will be indebted to them forever for such achievements.
