1 cup Chickpeas
2 cups water
Making Process for Healthy Recipes: Chickpea Tofu
- Soak the Chickpeas
Wash the Chickpeas well and soak them overnight.
- Blend the Chickpeas
In the morning, wash the chickpeas under running water. Now, take these chickpeas and add 2 cups of water. Blend them in batches, until you get a smooth mixture.
- – Strain the Mixture
Place a sieve on the bowl and line it with muslin cloth. Now, pour the Chickpeas mixture and strain it. Wrap the sieve like a potli or potlam and squeeze out water or liquid from chickpeas mixture.
- – Cooking Process
Now, take the liquid into a pot or a container and put it on gas on high flame. Bring down the flame as you see bubbles. Stir it to not let the mixture to stick on the bottom. Cook it for 20-25 minutes, till the mixture thickens.
- – Set the Mixture
Let the mixture cool down. Transfer it into a glass container. Level it and wait for 2-3 hours for it to set. It will set completely and become Tofu.
- -Ready to be used
Once it is completely set. Take it out of the container and chop it into pieces. Your Chickpea Tofu is ready to use in any dish of your choice.
