It is the season of soups and stews and it might happen that while preparing soup late at night at home, you realize that there is no corn flour in the pantry, and ordering it online is also not an option. Here are some healthier and easily available alternatives that you can try:-
1.​Wheat flour:-
It is a healthier substitute for cornstarch, as it contains protein and fibre and helps thicken soups and stews. Experts recommend using twice as much wheat flour as cornflour for the best results.

2.Arrowroot:-
It’s another starch flour made with the roots of the Maranta genus of plant. It is rich in fibre and makes for another healthier substitute for cornstarch. It is a gluten-free substitute, too.

It’s a gluten-free substitute made by crushing potatoes and then drying them into a powder. It is suggested to substitute potato starch for cornflour in a 1:1 ratio.

It is a processed starch extracted from cassava, a root vegetable, and makes for a healthier substitute. It is suggested that 2 tablespoons of tapioca flour be substituted for each tablespoon of corn flour.
