India has been place for great landscapes right from hilly terrains, plains, water bodies, sea shores. Driving on the roads on the hilly terrains, near beaches, over the dams or bridges, near to the waterfalls, over the bypass roads with long fields on either sides give us some stunning memories and last as experiences that we all should go through at least one time in our life.  Wherever we want to go, we need to have a road to drive on and reach. So, for a great memorable trip during long drives or vacations, here are few stunning and beautiful roads in India that you will love driving on.

 

1.Roghi Cliff Road, Himachal Pradesh

Mountain roads give us a lasting experience as we need to drive carefully through the cliffs and high tops through the narrow passages. Hair-pin bends; dangerous valley turns and then unrestricted beautiful views. You have to just drive through a mountain road to enjoy it. Roghi is a high mountain village at an elevation of 2.754m (9,035ft) above the sea level, located in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Northern India. The drive is full of surprises; you will enjoy it for sure.

  1. Hindustan Tibet Highway, Spiti Valley

While traveling along the Hindustan-Tibet Road, the amount of effort that was put into its construction. It is incredible that they built the road with hand tools, without the help of modern machines.  The tunneling through the huge rocks at “Khimring Dhankh”, a cliffy region of the Hindustan-Tibet Road, is still considered to be the largest stretch of rock tunneling for a road.

  1. Zuluk Silk Route, Sikkim

Dzuluk or Zuluk or Jhuluk or Jaluk is a small hamlet located at a height of around 10,000 feet (3,000 m) on the rugged terrain of the lower Himalayas in East Sikkim.This place is relatively an emerging and offbeat destination in East Sikkim. Today it is fast emerging as a new tourist destination. It derives its tourism importance due to the excellent view of the eastern Himalayan mountain range including the Kanchenjunga.

  1. Kolli Hills Road, Namakkal

Kolli Hills Road (is the name of a dangerous mountain road which is located in Kolli Hills or Kolli Malai, a small mountain range located in central Tamil Nadu in Namakkal district on the east coast of South India. The road features 70 continuous hairpin bends. The road is 46.7km (29 miles) long. It starts at Kalappanaickenpatti and 70 continuous hairpin bends take you to Kolli Malai or ‘the mountains of death’. Riding through these hairpin bends is an exhilarating experience.

  1. Taglang La Pass, Leh Ladakh

Tanglang La is a beautiful place in northern India which is home to several specimens of immaculate beauty that every adventurer should traverse once in their life. Located in the beautiful province of Ladakh, Tanglang La stands at the height of about 17,480 ft. which makes it one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the world. While nature enthusiasts will find eye pleasure at every turn, adventurers will enjoy the thrill. The twists and turns and the increasing altitude, feed an adventurer’s spirit. The pass is wrapped in an uninterrupted show of Rocky Mountains that gradually bury themselves in layers of white glistening snow.
