Among Indians the Favourite food is Chai and Paratha. Chai with parathas can be the largest health blunder, despite the fact that slurping hot Chai with hot fluffy parathas is another worldly guilty pleasure. But is this a healthy breakfast?
Here are reasons why drinking tea with meals is a bad idea:-
1.Acidity risk:-
Tea consumption with a heavy meal, such as loaded parathas, might cause severe bloating and acid reflux. This is because drinking parathas while drinking tea or coffee is known to harm or disturb the acid-base balance in your stomach.
2.Can cause anemia:-
The phenolic chemicals in tea stimulate the formation of iron-complexes in the lining of the stomach, preventing iron absorption. Tea should therefore not be consumed with meals, especially by those who have anemia due to a lack of iron.
3.Prevents nutrient absorption:-
By preventing protein absorption in the body, the tannins found in tea interact with proteins to behave as antinutrients. According to a study, tannins slow down protein digestion by an average of 38%. Tea prevents nutrients from being utilised by the body, so tea may not be the ideal beverage to pair with the paratha.

4.How should you consume the tea?
If chai is your cup of tea, you may enjoy it but keeping these things in mind. After consuming any meal, drink tea at least 45 minutes after it. An hour after breakfast or lunch, or in the evening while enjoying some snacks, is the optimum time to enjoy a cup of tea.
