Focusing on the importance of safe drinking water, Kind India Foundation aims to ensure that students in government schools are protected from waterborne diseases such as Cholera, Typhoid, and Diarrhea. Access to clean and safe water plays a crucial role in reducing frequent illnesses among children, which often leads to absenteeism. By addressing this basic need, the foundation strives to create a healthier learning environment where students can attend school regularly, stay well-hydrated, and improve their concentration, memory, and overall academic performance.
Two UV filtration systems were inaugurated at Natco Government High School and Government Primary School Prabath Nagar by Kunda Pratap, Director of Kind India Foundation. The inauguration took place in the presence of Headmasters, teachers, students, and parents, marking an important step toward improving access to safe drinking water in these schools.
The project includes complete water supply infrastructure—piping, water storage tanks, UV filtration systems with a capacity of 1000 LPH, stainless steel (SS) tanks, and provision for multiple taps to ensure easy access for students. The total cost of implementation for both schools is approximately ₹2 lakhs.
This initiative is expected to benefit more than 1,800 students and staff, providing them with clean and safe drinking water and contributing to better health, attendance, and learning outcomes.
Kind India Foundation has set an ambitious goal of installing 100 RO systems within a year to ensure access to safe drinking water in government schools. With the successful installation of these two UV systems, the foundation has now completed projects in five schools.
In addition to the UV plants at Borabanda, three other schools have been equipped with RO systems located in Nacharam, Borabanda, and Thirumala Nagar, Moulali.
This progress reflects the foundation’s strong commitment to expanding safe drinking water infrastructure and improving the health and well-being of students across communities. visit www.kindindia.in for more details
