War clouds are gathering once again in the Middle East. The superpower America, which is angry with the behavior of Iran, is determined to destroy the country itself. Steps are being taken in that direction. In this order, the officials of ‘US Central Command’ (CENTCOM) gave a long explanation to US President Donald Trump about the decisive military actions to be taken against Iran. In this high-level briefing, which lasted for about 45 minutes, the strategies designed to curb Iran’s aggression were explained to Trump. Seeing that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Dan Kane, is also participating in this meeting, it is clear that the US is preparing for a massive military action, not just warnings.
CENTCOM has mainly presented Trump with a ‘short and intense’ strategy to hit Iran. This means that it aims to carry out lightning strikes on critical infrastructure in Iran in a short period of time. With this, Washington aims to bring Iran back to the negotiating table regarding its nuclear program. As part of this operation, hypersonic ‘Dark Eagle’ missiles, which can hit targets with high speed and precision, are likely to be deployed. Besides, the US is planning to take control of some parts of the Strait of Hormuz without affecting global trade. Experts are of the opinion that there is a danger of deploying ground forces as part of this, which may make the situation more tense.
Another important aspect was also mentioned in this Sudirbha Bheti. The US is considering sending in special forces to seize or destroy Iran’s high-grade uranium reserves. This would be an action that would directly undermine Iran’s nuclear capability. Responding to this, Trump made comments in his own style. “They (Iran) are hiding now, they want to come to a deal anyway” and they are implementing a maximum pressure strategy.
US military experts believe that a ‘naval blockade’ is a safer and more effective option than direct missile strikes. Due to this, Iran will be more financially crippled. However, military planners warn that whatever action the US takes, Iran is likely to retaliate against US bases in the region, and be prepared for that. And, while this level of discussion was going on in America, the air defense systems were activated at once in Iran’s capital, Tehran, on Thursday night. According to local media, the Iranian army has taken these measures to shoot down small drones or surveillance planes flying in the sky. It is not yet clear whether this is just a military maneuver or a warning for fear of US attacks.
