Russia Strikes Kyiv Region Again With Deadly Missile and Drone Attack

Russia once again attacked Ukraine’s capital Kyiv region with drones and missiles. Two civilians lost their lives and several others were seriously injured in the attack on Bila Serkwa city on Sunday morning. Government offices, residential complexes and schools in the city were severely damaged due to the attack. It is noteworthy that this is only the third time that this weapon has been used in the war that has been going on for the past four years.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was furious over this. It is alleged that Russia has resorted to massive drone and missile attacks targeting ordinary citizens, including using powerful hypersonic ‘Oreshnik’ missiles. However, Russia has not yet responded to this.

What is Oreshnik Missile..?
Oreshnik is a hypersonic ballistic missile. This missile, which is one of Russia’s most advanced missiles, can travel at a speed of 13,000 kilometers per hour. That means it travels 10 times faster than the speed of sound. This missile can carry nuclear warheads.

Russia has previously declared that all countries in Europe will fall within the range of this missile and that there is no weapon capable of intercepting it. Russia launched it for the first time in November 2024 on a factory in the city of Dnipro, Ukraine. At that time it was still under development. It is reported that it has been fully prepared recently. Russia used this missile for the second time in western Liv region of Ukraine, and recently launched it for the third time against Kyiv region.
