
Turkey and Syria have been hit by massive earthquakes in short time period on Monday. A massive 7.8 magnitude Earthquake has hit both the countries. The visuals from Turkey and Syria have been heartbreaking to say the least. More than 5,775 buildings are confirmed to have been demolished in the tremors followed by huge earthquake. On Tuesday, another 5.6 magnitude tremor has stuck the countries and people are fearing for their lives. WHO has warned and predicted that more than 20k deaths and one lakh victims in both Turkey and Syria, after the massive tremor.
Reports suggest that more than 100 aftershocks have been felt in 24 hours and Tuesday, Wednesday will be crucial as geological experts predict massive seismic activity. Turkey and Syria are located are the flaut lines of the massive Africa, Euro-Asia, small Middle-east tectonic plates. Hence, they experience huge seismic activity and the plates seems to have started moving. Experts say that Turkey and Syria have never experienced such massive aftershocks or this huge magnitude first tremor in the past century.

WHO has expressed concern over both countries struggling financially and Syria has been suffering with prolonged internal conflict too. Turkey has been struggling to meet financial needs of the country with massive unemployment, inflation that crossed 68.3%. The economy of both the countries has been in dire need of help and with this kind of natural disaster, they may not be able to recover anytime soon. UK and India have pledged to help Turkey and Syria, with food grains and India has plans to airlift Indian survivors back to the country.
Rescue operations are going on in Turkey at a massive scale and with more and more buildings collapsing, the situation is going out of control with each passing hour. Syria is plagued by internal war and situation is even more chaotic in the nation with this massive earthquake. The official number of deaths have gone beyond 5,000 from both the countries and 20k victims are confirmed to have lost everything.
