P. V. Sindhu Praises Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Magic Drains’ as Game Changer for Rural AP

Famous badminton player and Olympic medalist P.V. Sindhu was showered with praise. She opined that Pawan Kalyan is implementing revolutionary ideas to achieve the goal of a clean and healthy rural Andhra Pradesh. She hailed that these magic drains, born from the ideas of Pawan Kalyan, are like a ‘game changer’ in the prevention of sewage problems in villages. In a video message released expressing her views on Pawan Kalyan’s 20-month tenure as Deputy Chief Minister, she expressed her happiness at the implementation of new policies like magic drains.

Sindhu said that even though governance matters are new, Pawan Kalyan is finding good solutions to public problems with innovative programs. She opined that majority of people in our country live in rural areas, but sanitation in villages is always a big challenge. She said that people have to live in an unsanitary environment without a proper sewage system and they have found a wonderful solution to this problem in the form of magic drains. She explained that in this system, the waste water from the houses goes into the ground through sinkholes, and the water is purified through three-tiered filter beds and becomes groundwater. She praised that due to this, the problems like accumulation of sewage and bad smell will become worse.

Compared to the construction of normal cement drains, magic drains save about 80 percent of the construction cost, said P.V. Sindhu clarified. She disclosed that these will play a vital role in protecting the health of the rural people as well as improving sanitation and will provide the people with the facility to lead a healthy life. She expressed hope that Pawan Kalyan would undertake more such forward-looking innovative programs in the future for the development of Andhra Pradesh. She concluded her message by wishing rural Andhra Pradesh to develop in all areas under the vision of Pawan Kalyan.
