AP Weather Alert: Rains, Thunderstorms Likely Across Andhra Pradesh

AP Weather Report: The Cyclone Warning Center of Visakhapatnam has revealed that changes in weather are likely to occur in the Andhra Pradesh state for the next five days. Officials said there is a chance of light to moderate rains accompanied by thunder and lightning in many parts of the state. On the other hand, favorable conditions are also being created for the arrival of southwest monsoon.

Jagannadha Kumar, senior official of Visakhapatnam Typhoon Warning Center, said that there are chances of southwest monsoon reaching Andaman-Nicobar Islands by 16th of this month. At present, a severe depression is continuing over the southwest and west central Bay of Bengal. Officials estimate that this low pressure is likely to move towards the northeast in the next 48 hours. Associated with this extreme low pressure is a surface circulation at an altitude of about 5.8 km. Also, from this depression, the trough is spread over North Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka to South Central Maharashtra at a height of 0.9 km.

On the other hand, another circulation is continuing from Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka to South Interior Karnataka at a height of 1.5 km above sea level. Due to the impact of these weather conditions, rains are likely to occur in many districts of Andhra Pradesh, according to the Meteorological Department. People are advised to be alert as there is a possibility of rain especially with thunder and lightning. Meanwhile, the intensity of the sun is also continuing in the state. Kurnool recorded the highest temperature of 42 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. Officials said that even if it rains in the coming days, the watershed may continue in some areas.
