Cyclone Mandous has started to cross the coast late on Friday Night tracked IMD. Let's hope Chennai people will face this natural disaster with great spirit. Even though it sounds cliched, "We are all with you, Chennai."

Cyclone Mandous has been terrorizing Chennai people from past two days as it has been bringing huge rains to Tamil Nadu, mainly, Chennai city. Five years ago, Chennai city faced massive floods and now, the Cyclone Mandous rains are almost similar to it. The rains have been terrorizing for public has the electricity poles are falling randomly, local tanks are getting dangerous level water from catchment areas and low lying areas are being flooded. Cyclone Mandous has started to cross the coast late on Friday Night tracked IMD.

Chennai Disaster Task Force has been running emergency service vehicles in the city and Government has decided to restrict Traffic throughout the city. Tamil Nadu Government has officially declared holiday for schools and even offices on Saturday and have asked people to not come out. Cyclone Mandous has already caused airlines to re-route planes away from Chennai and some of them have been cancelled too. People of Chennai are asked to always carry clean water to drink and arrange for food supplies for a day or two, until Cyclone Mandous effect is nullified.

Tamil Nadu Government has asked for district wise monitoring all-over the state and asked for reports from every department for every 10-15 minutes. CM MK Stalin is heading the Task Force to regularly monitor the progress. Heavy rains have been hampering travel in Chennai, Tirupathi, Kanchipuram and Mamallapuram. Cyclone Mandous effect will be continued for over a day say IMD and asked people to be on high alert.

Chennai city is under red alert and IMD has estimated Cyclone Mandous will take 5 hours to complete landfall and the effect will last till Sunday evening. Let’s hope Chennai people will face this natural disaster with great spirit. Even though it sounds cliched, “We are all with you, Chennai.”
